Racine, Wisconsin

Racine is a city in the United States, Wisconsin, on the west shore of Lake Michigan, 40 miles southeast of Milwaukee. The city has 80 100 residents (2004).

Racine was founded in 1834. The city has diverse industry, including manufacturing of agricultural machinery, auto parts, electrical equipment and food processing. The town also has a marina.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Milwaukee is the largest city in the state of Wisconsin in the United States, located on Lake Michigan, 130 miles north of Chicago. The city has 595,351 residents and forms the core of a larger metropolitan area with 1,576,236 residents (U.S. Census, 2017).

The population of Milwaukee is to a large extent of German and Polish descent. The city is an important railway junction, commercial and industrial center with large port facilities. Milwaukee is known for its large beer breweries – primarily the Miller Brewing Company – established by German settlers in the 1850s.

The city is the seat of the Roman Catholic Marquette University, founded in 1881, the department of the University of Wisconsin and other higher education sites. Famous zoo. Milwaukee was founded in 1839 by the merger of the cities of Juneau Town and Kilbourn Town. The city is known for its progressive politics and has had several socialist mayors.
